Fibromyalgia is a complex chronic pain condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and heightened sensitivity in specific areas of the body. It can significantly impact daily functioning and quality of life.
This condition is best understood as involving multiple systems in the body, including the nervous system, pain processing pathways, sleep regulation, and stress response mechanisms. For this reason, effective care often requires a multidisciplinary and individualized approach.
Acupuncture may be used as a supportive therapy to help regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, reduce muscular tension, and support the body’s natural pain modulation processes. Many individuals with fibromyalgia also benefit from additional supportive approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), stress management strategies, movement therapy, and sleep support.
Because fibromyalgia presents differently in each person, treatment is most effective when tailored to the individual and their specific symptom patterns and triggers.
My approach is focused on helping patients better understand their condition, identify contributing factors, and support overall improvements in comfort, energy, and daily function. Many patients report improvements in pain levels, stress tolerance, sleep quality, and mobility over time with consistent care.
I welcome questions from individuals seeking to better understand their symptoms and explore supportive treatment options.
